A GAME OF CHESS

Dad’s 5 philosophies of chess :

1. Both side starts equally; it is us who decide our fate with every crucial move so don’t just think of the next move, but always think deep and far

2. Exchanges is necessary and can be lost but sacrifices is always needed to achieve the greater good

3. It is not capturing the most pieces who win in the end but first to get the highest hierarchy

4. One lost pawn makes a big difference in defence

5. We wouldn’t know what the opponent thinks but we can always predict and dictate his/her movements

“Chess is like life”
Boris Spassky

“You have to have the fighting spirit. You have to force moves and take chances”
Bobby Fischer

“Life is a kind of Chess, with struggle, competition, good and ill events”
Benjamin Franklin
